"Wayne Arthur Silsbee is wanted for his alleged involvement in multiple incidents of sexual assault involving several female victims who were between the ages of eight and ten at the time of the offenses. These assaults occurred between September of 1995 and April of 1996, in Clackamas County, Oregon. Silsbee was acquainted with each of the victim children, having either babysat for them or taken them to various events. Silsbee was charged with first degree sodomy, first degree sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a minor, and first degree unlawful sexual penetration in a local arrest warrant in Clackamas County, Oregon, on July 24, 1996. A federal arrest warrant charging him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was issued on September 19, 1996, in the United States District Court, District of Oregon, Portland, Oregon."--FBI MOST WANTED POSTER [See Below.]

Rooster Rock, near Portland, was the first Clothing Optional beach Wayne Arthur Silsbee had ever attended, back in the early 1980s. After that he became an avid Naturist activist. He was a regular at Sauvie Island and a visitor at Fraternity Snoqualmie, a camp where numerous child molesters have resided [see Hall of Shame website]. Silsbee even "recommend[s] a visit to FS any time" and also has stated on rec.nude (Jan 8 19950 that his children were not molested when he visited the camp. During the 1980s, for a decade, Silsbee operated naturist and nudist Bulletin Board Services (BBS). Then in 1992 he founded the "family-oriented" Fidonet Naturist Echo.

In the 1990s Wayne Silsbee was a frequent contributor to rec.nude and several handicapped newsgroups including misc.handicap and bit.listserv.l-hcap where many of his posts related to children. There's no reason to believe he is not still posting in these areas, but not under his real name anymore due to the warrants out for his arrest since 1996.

For years Silsbee was listed as a contact in the rec.nude faq until he was quietly removed. Silsbee was (is?) a long time member of the AANR (American Association for Nude Recreation). He is a Christian Naturist who claims he cancelled his membership with the Naturist Society due to their "hatred of Christianity". Silsbee was a vocal critic of the Nudist/Naturist Hall of Shame.

I first heard of Wayne Silsbee from Chris Faubert who told me Wayne Silsbee was running the Naturist Fidonet newsgroup. At the time Faubert had concerns about Tim Wilcox, a convicted child molester and pornographer--and also the Fidonet sysop of a Hayward BBS that put him in contact with children--who had been a regular contributor on the Fidonet echo.

Faubert informed me that Silsbee had been in close communication with Wilcox (yes, we'll certainly bet he had been and law enforcement needs to take note of that at this time). Faubert also said that Silsbee was a persistent defender and ally to Wilcox; that he wanted Wilcox to remain in the forum even after it became known he was involved in a nudist child pornography and prostitution ring and was a multiple convicted child molester. However Wilcox was finally removed despite his and Silsbee's protestations.

Reading Silsbee's posts on rec.nude I found out he wants pedophiles and convicted child molesters to be able to freely attend and participate in naturist/nudist functions and feels it is not up to the organizations to bar them, but that it is the sole responsibility of parents to protect their children against child molesters and photographers when they attend naturist functions. He believes, as many nudists and naturists do, that once a convicted child molester or child pornographer has done his time that no restrictions should be imposed on him by nudist or naturist organizations. Silsbee articulated variations of this opinion frequently in rec.nude during the mid 1990s, and, in my opinion, unfortunately too many nudists and naturists on rec.nude and elsewhere in the movement were and are agreeing with him. --Nikki Craft 12.13.04
